coffee, coffee everywhere/and not a drop to drink
- not Coleridge
Well, no albatrosses were harmed in my recent coffee-ing, but I did seem to be cursed with a spell of bad espresso this week. Probably jinxed myself saying that the shots I was pulling at home were like the ones I had at Intelly...
Anyway, every night, I've been experimenting with my new bag of black cat (roasted the 17th, I think) at different pressures/temperatures/dosages and, every night, I've gotten consistently undrinkable shots: woodsy, bitter, petrol-y, ugh. Last night, I finally found the right pressure; perhaps today, I'll actually be able to drink a straight shot. (little steps)
Work is...still work. It's gotten a bit more interesting this week because I've learned to actively seek out good projects (rather than wait for collating jobs and flowchart-making assignments to come to me.) Attended a client meeting on Wednesday and got to meet the biggest asshole at Discover Financial...(woohoo :o)
In other news, I'm going to be having dinner at another_jim's house next weekend when Peter comes to Chicago. It should be, I think, the highest coffeegeekness/foot^2 I'll have experienced since last April. *squeal*
